Poem : 🌷 Smile Is A Shield
Poetess : Tilottama Vijay Lele
Human Beings R social creatures...
They meet greet n flaunt their treasures
Smile n ask "How R U ?"a rhetorical QN
It's a common practice of conversation…
Every person replies with a smile,
A fake or a genuine as per latest style...
Der's a very thin line between,
A genuine person or a drama queen...
Though we're not real actors,
24 X 7 all R acting as a masked masters
When Der's gentle tremor of honesty,
A "lie" isn't loud, but a subtle modesty...
Residing in d space between our breaths
A transformation of invisible pain-effects
D thin layer of words can easily reveal,
D silent truths that we all try to hide.
Response of ‘I’m good’ works as a shield
N a tiny convenience in d society field
D rhythm makes it feel intimate n alive.
Inner-Healing makes us genuinely smile
A soft sense n a feeling of hopeful Ray
Then d pretending slowly fades away...
Der's a weight behind d practiced smile,
Reflects what’s going through for a while
It reminds that d most common words,
Can carry with them d deepest silence.
When we carry what nobody else sees…
A practiced smile is a shelter for free…
A fake Smile can be a great escape...
D real aches’ll wait for quieter moments
A fake Smile can veil deeper emotions...
Revealing very less than actual situation
In a 'white lie', Der's Li'l consciousness
Hidden sadness, we don’t loudly confess
Smiling n hiding d truth to escape reality
‘A soft lie’ to hide under shield, for immunity
