Poem : 🌷 " A hollow victory "
Poetess : Tilottama Vijay Lele
We learn early that victory brings d glory...
N we carry-it-forever like-a-stone-that's-heavy
We're hard wired to try to win at all costs...
It can be a playground or a boardroom of sorts...
We're also told that a defeat'll fetch shame...
So we keep on fighting to avoid d blame...
But what if d point is not, always winning ?
What if some battles R actually worth losing?
We just fight over very trivial things...
Like parking spots or someone commenting...
Wasting our precious time on such conflicts,
That won’t matter next year, months or weeks...
Der R things we can control n things we can’t.
It's like we win some n some we lose fast...
Fighting battles over things we can’t control,
Is like yelling at clouds to make rain withhold...
Oftentimes "Being Right" is exhausting...
It means to correct n win d argument by fighting...
With partner, victory'd leave both feeling worst...
They'd break d bond, than bend on being right...
Like a trophy, they'd collect d hollow-victory...
N then live their lives, feeling lonely n guilty...
